General Ministries

General Ministries

Courtesy Ministry

The Courtesy Ministry is vitally important in that it provides our guests with a first impression of our congregation.  Here, the duties include welcoming guests to our church and providing them with information about our Sunday morning services.  It is the goal of the Courtesy ministry to help individuals feel at ease while they are with us.   For more information, you may contact Jelena Coleman at 212-862-3035

Nurses Ministry

The Nurse ministry  is a group of women who volunteer to help members of the  church community enhance their well-being.   Their main purpose is to provide a caring presence, a listening ear and spiritual support to the congregation.  In addition, they also act as an auxiliary to the Pastor in various capacities during regular and special services.   For more information on this ministry, you may contact Dodie Lanair at 914-668-9886

Senior and Junior Usher Ministry
The Usher Ministry most often takes place on Sunday morning.  This includes activities such as helping people find a seat in the sanctuary, taking up of the offering , and handing out information sheets.  Along with the Courtesy Ministry, this ministry often provides first time guests with an initial impression about the church.   For more information on this ministry, you may contact Aldora Dunham at 914-654-5144

Missionary Ministry

This ministry connects with people in the community and encourages them to attend church and pursue spirituality.  Their goal is to coordinate visits to shut-ins, the sick, and those hospitalized.  For more information on this ministry, you may contact Doretha Herndon at 914-699-0348

Silver and Gold Ministry

The Silver and Gold ministry honors the wisdom of parish seniors and recognizes the integrity of older adults and their contributions to the church and community.  This ministry seeks to serve in response to God’s love in Christ Jesus, acting as a bridge to the congregation in advocating dignity and providing  on going support for the welfare of our senior parishioners.  For more information on this ministry, you may  contact, Anne Clarke at 914-664-4185

Teenage Ministry

The Teen ministry strives to provide a variety of opportunities and experiences to draw teen into active, responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the church.  Programs are designed to help spiritually train and equip them in a fun and Godly atmosphere to the Glory of God. Bible studies are used as the main  event .   Fund raisers, community services, car washes  and other activities offer time for the students to interact with each other.  Teen ministry is more than programs and events; it is  every effort by more mature Christians to reach out to the youth in the church and surrounding community.
