Minister Norman
Brian Fields Martin

Min. Norman Brian Fields Martin is a dynamic faith leader, educator, mentor, and community advocate whose life is grounded in a deep commitment to spiritual transformation and academic empowerment. He passionately believes in reaching people where they are — spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally — while equipping them to rise to who God has called them to be. He is also of 2nd Generation Liberian, African, Caribbean, and Shinnecock Indian descent and recognized that culture, faith, service, and education are both significant and a responsibility in various ways. Min. Martin proudly calls four communities “home,” each representing a chapter of spiritual development and leadership growth. Born and raised in The Bronx, New York, his Christian foundation was planted at First Union Baptist Church, where his spiritual journey first began. While studying at the University of Maryland, College Park, he served faithfully with University Bible Fellowship, dedicating himself to campus missions and discipleship — both locally and in international outreach. He later joined Brook Presbyterian Church in Rockland County, NY, where he was ordained as a Presbyterian Elder. Today, he serves with distinction at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY, where God continues to expand his calling and ministry impact. These four spiritual communities have poured into his life, nurtured his faith, and shaped the minister he is today. Currently, in his 8th year as Youth Minister of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry — MAC Nation — under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Darren M. Morton, Min. Martin leads teen and young adult discipleship, oversees ministry operations and programming, and empowers youth to embrace faith, purpose, and leadership in Christ. Additionally, Min. Martin is a proud Special Education Teacher (Grades 7–12) at the Denzel Washington School of the Arts in Mount Vernon, NY (since 2023), where he teaches Social Studies, Algebra 1 Regents, and AP Human Geography. In the classroom, he champions equity and inclusion, ensuring that diverse learners — especially those with IEPs and unique learning needs — are seen, supported, and equipped to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Min. Martin is the son of Deacon Norman Fields and Rev. Dr. Nancy B. Fields, whose example of devotional service continues to guide him. He is deeply grateful for the prayers, sacrifices, and love that shaped his character and fueled his calling.
Academically, Min. Martin has earned theological training at NY Theological Seminary and I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mercy College. He is continuing to expand his educational expertise through certifications and ongoing professional and development in Special Education, pedagogy, and curriculum design at CUNY Brooklyn College, while simultaneously completing his theological development through Master of Divinity at New York Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary. His passion for leadership extends beyond the church and classroom. He is Co-Founder of Arche Group International LLC, a mentorship and leadership development organization. He also proudly serves as a “Big” with Big Brothers Big Sisters, invests his time supporting families and youth in his community, and is actively involved in SAG-AFTRA as a member in good standing. Min. Martin holds leadership roles in several fraternal, professional, and civic organizations, including:
- Secretary, Progressive Lodge #64
-Inroads, Inc.
-National Black MBA Association
- Member, Pentecost Consistory #98, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, PHA
- Member, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
- Participant in Modern Temple Association & Craftsmen’s Club

He credits travel and missions for expanding his worldview — including ministry and cultural experiences in China (2007) and South Africa (2019: Johannesburg, Malawi, Lesotho, and Cape Town) — where God deepened his passion for global discipleship and international connection.
In his personal life, Min. Martin is devoted to health, discipline, and focus. He is a trained practitioner and instructor of Ving Tsung Kung Fu, a martial art through which he promotes self-confidence, resilience, and personal responsibility in youth and young adults.

Above all, Min. Martin is a servant of Jesus Christ. His mission is clear: equip the next generation to pursue God with passion, pursue knowledge with confidence, and pursue purpose with courage. He remains humbled by every door God opens and looks forward with expectancy as the Lord continues to elevate his service — in the church, in the classroom, and in the world.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; -Isaiah 61:1-2 KJV
