Assistant Pastor & Ministers

Reverend Hugh
L. Washington

Reverend Hugh L. Washington is the proud son of Cornelia Washington and Banks Andrew Wheeler Jr., and one of three siblings. A native of Mount Vernon, New York, he was educated in the Mount Vernon City School District where he excelled in both Mathematics and Physical Education. A true New Yorker at heart, he remains a loyal fan of the New York Knicks.

Reverend Washington firmly believes that ministry extends beyond the pulpit and into the heart of the community. His deep passion for outreach led to the birth of the 100 Souls Saved, No Soul Left Behind Campaign—a bold initiative dedicated to sharing Christ’s love and salvation through direct engagement.

During the warmer months, it’s not uncommon to see Reverend Washington walking the streets of the local neighborhood, spreading the Gospel one conversation at a time.

His spiritual transformation began during a nearly decade-long incarceration in Upstate New York. After two years of wrestling with God’s call, he surrendered fully to the Lord and embraced a life of purpose and service.

Reverend Washington’s theological training began at Christian Love Tabernacle School of the Bible, where he focused on Spiritual Warfare. He furthered his studies at Will of the Master Bible School, where he not only deepened his biblical knowledge but also served as an instructor—pouring into others the same way God poured into him.

He currently serves faithfully at Macedonia Baptist Church, where he is the president of the Macedonia Kingsmen Fellowship and a dedicated Sunday School teacher. He serves alongside his beloved wife, Sister Tara Washington, and together they are the proud parents of two children and the joyful grandparents of two.
Reverend Washington’s life is a living testimony to God’s power to redeem, restore, and release purpose. His passion for souls, commitment to discipleship, and love for the community continue to make a lasting impact in the Kingdom.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; -Isaiah 61:1-2 KJV
